Post-Shift Apologies and Things [Video] - open

[Jane takes a deep breath and presses the button to start the broadcast.]

Hello everyone, Jane Foster here. [She takes another deep breath and clears her throat.]

First, I want to apologize for my behavior during the shift. I was, obviously, not myself. If I damaged any property, or feelings for that matter, I'm going to do everything I can to make up for it, I promise. And I really hope that you don't think I'm like that normally. I'm very friendly and I love helping people and making friends.

[If she doesn't stop herself she'll ramble on with profuse apologies, so she pauses and moves on.]

Secondly, if anyone has any spare electronics they don't need or want any more, I'd be happy to take them off of your hands. Working or not, it doesn't matter. That includes extension cords and cables too. Just drop them off at my place in the Flame Building. There will be a box outside my door you can leave them in if I'm not home. I'm trying to put something together that I think everyone in Luceti would enjoy. I'll post another message if I manage to pull it off. Thank you!

[She gives a wave as a way of signing off, then the screen goes dark.]

Yep. At first I was going to try to recreate my prior work, but then after seeing the power the Malnosso have over us, I figured they'd be none too pleased if I go trying to make wormholes.

Then Thor gave me this amazing telescope, and I was thinking it would be nice if everyone could see what I can see through it. I'm going to try to transmit the image to a receiver that will then project it onto a screen. I've found some of the most amazing things near us, Loki, and their beautiful.

[Dryly:] They wouldn't know if you don't tell them.

Which prior work? [The stuff she did in Midgard, or did someone finally tell her about the things she worked on with Tony and Loki here?]

I've been told the stars overhead in this place are projections, rather than real. Though there might be a method indeed to see past that, which would be interesting.

[Voice]

Are you sure about that? I've kinda gotten the impression they're all-knowing and all-seeing. If there's any chance I'd get myself or anyone else in trouble I'd rather just focus my efforts somewhere else. Between the time that Thor first came to Earth and when he came to me in London, I was working with SHIELD trying to recreate the way the Bifrost works. I even created a machine that could partially recreate the bridge, but I could never get it to work fully. My first idea was, if I could get it to work here, I might be able to get all of us back home where we belong.

[There's a pause as his words sink in. Mere projections and not reality? That's beyond disappointing.]

Well, if that's true, and they're not real... that changes my plans considerably.

[Voice]

They had no idea last time until it was too late.

[He'll just leave that one hanging for a moment.]

If I remember correctly, the stars are projected by the barrier.

I don't know if I was my worst possible self, but I certainly did things I would have never dreamed of doing in any right mind. I know others who did... less say, equally less reputable things.

I'm sure no one here is going to hold it against you.

Or if they are, well, they're probably not worth being friends with.

I hope not. What worries me the most is that they are people I did not know before the shift, so they have no frame of reference for what I'm normally like. Unlike you.

[Once back in his own right mind, Jane's transformation was rather funny. The Cajun liked her radical streak she had adopted.]

Well... maybe just a little. It was incredibly freeing to not care about anyone's opinion of me. It was very lonely, though.

Ah, sometimes a change in perspective helps us see how bon our every day lives be.

Though, that just sums Luceti up in itself, let 'long the extra merde it throws at us.

That is an understatement! Not just my everyday life, but my whole life. Shift-me had it bad from day one.

[Oh no now he's embarrassed. But he tries to speak up.]

It's okay. You- you couldn't control the way you were then. None of us could. And, uh...

Your hair grow back okay? [He gives a strained sheepish expression, as if just realizing his joke might not be a great one.]

[She doesn't realize until he mentions the hair that she's stepped out of the view of the camera.]

Oh! Hey, Kurt. Look, when the shift ended it all came back.

[She tousles her long waves and smiles. The relief at having her hair back is obvious.]

So we're okay? I still can't believe how I treated you, like you were my personal butler or something. I'm so sorry.

I'm glad everything's back to normal. But... it's okay. The shifts can make us all act really weird. I know that I was such a tool! Still, all things considered you were pretty cool!

That was my first experience with a shift and I can say for sure that I hope nothing like that ever happens again.

And you were not a tool. You were very sweet, actually.

[Grune definitely is relieved as she watches the broadcast. She had been worried about Jane, and that hadn't ended when she had regained her real memories. It's good to hear she isn't really as alone as the bitter young woman she had tried to help was.

She smiles with the deepest of warmth when she replies.]

[Jane's face lights up despite her obvious sheepishness.]

Oh Grune, I'm so happy to hear from you! Aside from my total horror at my behavior, I'm doing well. Considering how unfailingly kind you were to me then, I should have known you wouldn't hold it against me.

You don't need to feel bad. [She sounds surprised that Jane would.] You just forgot a few things, that's all.

[Jane runs her fingers through her hair and winces visibly.]

Actually I knew a lot of things that I wish I didn't. And I wish I could forget them now that the whole thing is over. My whole life was different, my childhood... it's made me really, really grateful that none of the things that happened to shift-Jane actually happened to me.
